How to set up a Wellbeing survey

There may be times when it is necessary to ask multiple pupils about specific wellbeing queries. Class Charts allows you to do this via Wellbeing surveys.

 

Enabling Wellbeing surveys

Before Wellbeing surveys can be used, the module needs to be enabled.

To enable Wellbeing surveys for your school's Class Charts account, click on the three lines menu in the top right hand corner of Class Charts and select Schools settings from the list of available options.

You will be presented with a list of settings that control the modules for your school's Class Charts account. Set Wellbeing surveys to Enabled.

 

Setting up a Wellbeing survey

To begin creating a Wellbeing survey, click on the three lines menu in the top right hand corner of Class Charts and select Surveys from the list of available options.

You will be presented with a list of Wellbeing surveys that have been set up in your school's Class Charts account, along with two default surveys for Primary and Secondary schools.

To create a new Wellbeing survey, click on the button labelled Create a survey.

You will be redirected to the Create a new survey page. Select which pupils will receive the survey, then enter a survey name, duration and an optional thank you note.

Next, you will need to provide questions that will make up the survey. Enter the question of your choice into the Add new question field and press the Enter key to add it to the Questions list.

Once a question has been added to the Questions list you will be able to reposition it in the list via the multidirectional arrow icon, or delete the question via the bin icon.

To save your survey as an unpublished draft, click on the Safe draft button.

To save your survey and send it to the recipient pupils, click on the Save & activate survey button.

Your new survey will now appear within your school's list of surveys.

 

Viewing survey results

As pupils respond to your survey, you will be able to view their answers and identify general trends.

To view the results of a survey, click on the three dots menu for the survey of your choice and select Activate survey.

Each question in your survey will be displayed, along with each pupil's response and any comments that have been left.

 

Activating / deactivating a survey

In order for a pupil to see a Wellbeing survey, it first needs to be activated. To activate a survey, click on the three dots menu for the survey of your choice and select Activate survey.

A popup warning will appear, outlining when the survey will be available to pupils. Click on the OK button to continue.

The selected survey will now appear in green, to indicate that it is currently active.

To deactivate an active survey, click on the three dots menu for the survey of your choice and select Disable survey.

The selected survey will return to white and will no longer be available for pupils to respond to.

 

Editing a survey

To make changes to an existing survey, click on the three dots menu for the survey of your choice and select Edit survey.

You will be directed to the Edit a survey page, where you can make changes to the survey details and its questions.

Please note: When editing an active survey, it will temporarily be hidden from pupils until you have saved your changes.

 

Cloning a survey

To make an exact copy of an existing survey, click on the three dots menu for the survey of your choice and select Clone survey.

You will be redirected to the Create a new survey page with the selected survey's details prepopulated.

 

Deleting a survey

To delete a survey, click on the three dots menu for the survey of your choice and select Delete survey.

A warning popup will appear, click on the OK button to continue.

The selected survey and any associated responses will be permanently removed from the list.
